Momchil Mladenov

Momchil Mladenov was Born in Bourgas, Bulgaria, a former principal dancer with Sofia Opera and Ballet, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Ballet “Arabesque” and the Ballet of the Musical Theatre. Graduate in the Vaganova Method of National School of Dance Art and the National Academy of Music “Pantcho Vladigerov”.

Mr. Mladenov career in America started as a dancer and Ballet Master at the University of Texas, El Paso under the directorship of Ingeborg Heuser. Mr. Mladenov is a decade long collaborator of New York City’s choreographer Kathryn Posin. To date, Momchil is the only company member to dance the title role in The Suzanne Farrell Ballet restaging of Balanchine’s “Don Quixote”.

Momchil founded Cultural Bridges Association and presented The Suzanne Farrell Ballet and the National Ballet of Bulgaria in a shared program titled "Balanchine and Farrell: American Ballet for Bulgaria" where choreographer Kathryn Posin also recreated her ballet Stepping Stones and Mr. Mladenov choreographed the ballet “Vardar Suite” on the infamous music Rhapsody Vardar by famed Bulgarian composer Pantcho Vladigerov at Sofia Opera and Ballet, Bulgaria in June 2011. There and after presenting a series of performances under the project American Ballet for Bulgaria and introducing works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins and William Forsythe.

Mr. Mladenov is a laureate of several international ballet competitions including Masako Oya International Ballet Competition, Japan and The International Ballet Competition in Perm, Russia.

Currently Mr. Mladenov is Master Ballet Pedagogue at National Ballet of China.
